Sports Tours International, the owners and deliverers of the Tour of Tameside are delighted to announce a partnership with leading running magazine publisher’s runABC.
The agreement will see the publisher engaging with its many running club and club member readers, to challenge then to take on the multiday running challenge and battle for the various titles on offer as well as prize money and trophies.
runABC is the UK’s largest circulation running magazine and has worked with the Tour of Tameside to publicise one of the best events in the north of England for the past two years.
Terry Brennan, publisher of runABC said “The Tour of Tameside has a magnificent heritage. It was the leading North West multi-stage event back in the 1980’s and 1990’s and now it is back and already growing in popularity – we are really excited to be an even bigger part of it in 2017!”.
Kevin Harmer, UK Event & Sponsorship Manager at Sports Tours International said “We are delighted to have runABC on board again for 2017 and to have them involved specifically in the Club Trophy categories. The publication is one of the best in its sector and one that many of our runners regularly read. It will be great to work with them again in 2017 to get even more serious runners entering”.
Likely to be coveted as much as the cash prizes is the specially designed runABC Tour of Tameside Club Trophy which will be presented on the final Sunday of the Tour by Mr. Running himself, Dr Ron Hill MBE, the man who created the event back in 1983.
The Club Trophy will be awarded to the best Affiliate Club who completes all 4 days. There is £150 cash prize on offer, alongside the coveted title of ‘Champions’ and the all important Club Trophy for both Male and Female club winners (3 to count).
