As you’re probably aware, 2020 has been an extremely difficult year for the mass participation sports industry. It’s been a year of cancellations, rollovers and refunds, with people turning instead to virtual events and challenges.
However, as we look ahead to 2021, and returning to travel and to sport; we can’t wait to help you at your next event. Something to bear in mind though; due to the sheer number of people who’ve rolled over from a 2020 event to a 2021 event, there’s already a scarcity of entries for many of our trips. We want to make sure you hear about future trips with us. Whatever your next adventure looks like, whether you’re a runner, cyclist or triathlete, make sure you hear about future trips with us by joining our notification lists.
Our email newsletter is a great way of staying in the loop with us, but by the time we go out to our database when new trips launch we could already have only limited availability. We’ve implemented a strategy of giving notification lists a priority for the majority of our trips. So if you have an idea in mind, for events you’d like to do in 2021, and into the future, but you’re not in a position to book now, be sure to join the notification list for those specific events to have all the updates from us first.
So what are the benefits of joining an event notification list?
The notification lists will be given a priority booking window. You’ll be the first to know. This is the best way to make sure you hear about future trips before we go on general sale to our newsletter database. This therefore gives you the best chance of securing a guaranteed entry and your preferred choice of accommodation. Please note, for some of our events that sell out instantly, like the Boston Marathon and Tokyo Marathon, we go to our most loyal customers first. Following this we contact the notification list with an update of the remaining entries etc.
You’re registering an interest in an event. This helps us provide you with updates regarding the availability of an event that we might not typically do in our general newsletters. For example these could be updates on; a hotel selling out, more rooms being added, having our final few entries, securing additional entries, or any changes to the trip. Whatever the developments, you’ll hear from us.
You may not be ready to book immediately. Being on the notification list means you will hear any updates on the event in the future, so you can closely monitor the status of the trip, and book when it best suits you.
How to join a notification list
If an event is on sale and you don’t want to book at the moment, you can join the notification list for future editions, or further updates, when the event has two buttons like the below

If you’re a subscriber to our newsletter, you can also join event notification lists via the footer of our emails. Just click manage subscriptions and select the event lists you want to join.
If you think you’re signed up to a notification list, but want to check; email our team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Give details of the list you think you’re on along with your email address.
You can join our general newsletter via the ‘Stay up to date’ tab at the footer of any page, just enter your email.
