Organised by Sports Tours International, the 5km Fun Run is already attracting participants of all ages and ability levels, who will dress up in Halloween inspired costumes to complete the course – and Decathlon will be kindly assisting with in store promotional opportunities.
UK Events & Sponsorship Manager at Sports Tours International, Kevin Harmer said;
“We are delighted to be working with Decathlon Sports again, especially as this is our first ever Halloween Fun Run at the fantastic Heaton Park in Manchester. Being able to promote the family focussed event in those stores means that those Decathlon customers will get to learn about the event first hand and also then be able to purchase products in store to compliment it. Decathlon focuses upon providing top quality sports and leisure equipment for all ages and tastes, so it matches the exact ethos of the Halloween Fun Run”.
The event is sponsored by the Dreams Come True charity, which is a national children’s charity, whose mission is to enrich the lives of children and young people living with serious medical conditions and the Halloween Fun Run shows their intent in spreading their reach into the North West of the UK.
Mariana Macias Capuzzi, Regional Communications Leader for Decathlon Sports, said;
“Decathlon loves sporting events that bring families and friends together! What a great idea to get creative wearing a fun costume while you run, walk or push a buggy with your loved ones. Dreams Come True and Sports Tours International are doing a great job organising a Fun Run for all!”
The event takes place at noon on Sunday October 29th, at Heaton Park, Manchester with lots on offer in the Athlete Village for those participating such as free Manchester Giants Basketball tickets for all under 15’s, complimentary Halloween cake bars from Soreen and a super spooky glow in the dark medal at the finish!
