The Paris Half Marathon or ‘Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris’ takes place on Sunday 1 March 2020, and celebrates it’s 28th edition in 2020. Run in the romantic charm of the “City of Love”, with a route that takes you through the streets of Paris and some of its most well known landmarks. The ‘Semi de Paris’ is an IAAF Bronze Label race which attracts 40,000 runners from across France and the rest of Europe.

Famous for its iconic landmarks and romantic culture, Paris is a hot-spot for tourists all year round. This iconic city comes to life when the streets are filled with over 40,000 runners, and thousands of supporters, who gather to show their support for the annual Paris Half Marathon. With musical entertainment along the way, the Paris Half Marathon is a magical event in a wonderful city.

Paris Half Marathon Event Details

The 2020 Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris’ the Paris Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 1 March 2020.

Enjoyed by over 37,000 finishers in 2019, the Paris Half Marathon continues to grow in popularity year by year, and it is easy to see why.

New Course (2nd year)

In 2020, the course starts and a finishes within Paris city centre to improve your experience on the big day! With a start on the Quais d’Austerlitz, and finish on the Quais François Mauriac (in front of the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand) located at the foot of the metro and the RER.

After the race, you’ll be able to enjoy the many shops, cafes, and terraces on the edge of the Seine or the nearby avenues of this magnificent, renovated quarter of the 13^th arrondissement.

Like with any race held in this marvellous city, you’ll admire the capital’s many emblematic monuments: Bastille, Rue de Rivoli, Hôtel de Ville, Quais de Seine, the Bois de Vincennes and its Château, and Pont de Tolbiac.

Running enthusiasts, sponsors and exhibitors gather for the 2 days leading up to the Paris Half Marathon.

There will be a huge amount of support for the runners, as many spectators line the Parisian streets to cheer you on, and there are even several musical events along the way, adding to the incredible atmosphere of the event. The course is relatively flat, allowing a significant number of runners to beat their personal bests. Every year, elite runners put in performances of a world class standard.

Friday 28 February 2020

Arrive in Paris by your own travel arrangements and make your way to the Hotel De La Porte Doree. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the opportunity to attend the marathon EXPO. You can collect your bib on Friday from 10.00 until 19.30.

This evening our running representative will organise a welcome meeting so all our runners can get to know each other ahead of the weekend.

Saturday 29 February 2020

This morning at approximately 8am (time TBC) we will offer a complimentary 5k warm up run around a local park guided by our staff, with half marathon runners, friends and family all welcome.

Alternatively, a free day to explore the city of Paris. Spend your day climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower, grab a selfie in front of the Arc de Triumph or spend the day browsing the local shops and tasting the local cuisine. Today you will also have time to attend the marathon EXPO to collect your race pack. You can collect your bib from 09.00 until 19.30. The Semi de Paris EXPO village and registration is located at the ‘Parc Floral de Paris Bois de Vincennes – Route de la Pyramide – 75012 Paris’ which is the same location as the start and the finish of the event.

Our running representative will do a guided trip to and from the Expo from the hotel today. This evening we will hold an informal meeting at the hotel with some hints and tips for the half marathon tomorrow.

Sunday 1 March 2020 – Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris

Half Marathon day. Today is the day. Grab your trainers as you take your spot on the Paris Half Marathon starting line. From the hotel it takes about 25 minutes by Metro to get to the start and as the finish is in a similar location, another 25 minutes to get back again after. Our running rep will do a guided trip over to the start today.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel by 12pm where you will then have time to explore Paris before your return or onward journey.

Hotel de La Porte Doree

You will stay at the Hotel de La Porte Doree which is excellently located for the start, finish and expo.

The hotel is located to a few metro stops from the city’s main tourist centre and is close to the Bois de Vincennes. From the hotel, you can walk to the centre of Paris along the ancient Roman viaduct, transformed into an elevated garden. There are numerous bus and metro lines near the hotel that offer quick, easy access to the city’s top tourist attractions.

Rooms – Rooms are furnished with Henri II style antiques but with modern comforts. Each room is different with some rooms having period fireplaces.
