The 2019 Haute Route Dolomites takes place from Friday 7 until Sunday 9 June, 2019 in Cortina d’Ampezzo. You will be immersed in the heart of this legendary mountain range and will trace a sensational route through the jagged rock faces and demanding climbs of the region. The event will take place in a new 3-day format and the race will feature two classic road stages and an uphill time trial and will be based in one sole location in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

DETAILS
The 2019 Haute Route Dolomites will be a 3-day event, along the lines of the highly successful Haute Route Mont Ventoux. In 2019 we also offer you the Haute Route Oman, Haute Route Asheville and Haute Route San Francisco. If you’re looking for a 7-day event, you can also ride the Haute Route Pyrenees or Haute Route Alps in 2019.

After taking place in Predazzo in 2018, the Haute Route Dolomites will move to Cortina d’Ampezzo from 2019, a renowned mountain town surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Dolomites. The 2019 Haute Route Dolomites will will trace a sensational route through the highly recognisable jagged rock faces of the Dolomites and demanding climbs of the region. Loyal to the 3-day concept, the Haute Route Dolomites will feature two classic road stages and an uphill time trial.

With simple logistics and one single race village location you will be able to make the most of their riding, discover one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world and appreciate the local cycling culture.

Entry options for the 2019 Haute Route Dolomites

Full distance or compact

New for 2019 is that you can choose from two different courses on the Haute Route Alpe d’Huez. You can either take on the challenge of the Original course, or decide to ride the Compact course which provides the same experience but on an easier route for each stage. Both options will start and finish together but there are different daily and overall rankings.

With simple logistics and one single race village location you will be able to make the most of the riding and discover one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world and appreciate the local cycling culture. Along the course you will discover breathtaking landscapes dominated by jagged ridges and towering rock formations, stunning high-altitude glacial lakes and several mountain passes made famous by the legends of Italian cycling.

With two mountainous stages and one uphill time trial riders at the front of the peloton will be able to race flat out for three days, and those further back in the peloton will be able to test themselves and their ability on this new 3-day Haute Route format.

Thursday 6 June, 2019 – Arrival day

Please book your flight to Venice Marco Polo airport today if you wish to make use of our airport transfer. We provide 1 transfer from Venice airport to Cortina today at 15.00 for all flights that arrive into Venice this morning before 14.15. Please notify us of your flight times when booking or when you have them.

Today we will register for the event and we will assist you with getting your bike ready for tomorrow’s event. With your Haute Route entry you will receive among other things:
- 1 complete set of Haute Route cycling kit
- Haute Route travel bag with wheels
- 1 Haute Route back pack
- Mechanical support from Mavic both at each race village and along the route (not for repairing punctures)
- A personalised frame plate and 2 sets of race numbers
- Pit stops and refreshment breaks (solid, liquid, energy products) during each stage
- A hot meal at the finish of each stage
This evening we will organise a race briefing and you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow riders.

This evening we will have an evening meal together and our staff will be on hand to make any bike adjustments and we will also have a race briefing for tomorrow’s stage.

Saturday 8 June, 2019 – Stage 2 – Mountain stage

Breakfast in line with the stage timings.

Exact route details to be confirmed soon but expect iconic climbs and tough riding with pro level support.

This evening we will have an evening meal together and our staff will be on hand to make any bike adjustments and we will also have a race briefing for tomorrow’s stage.

Sunday 9 June, 2019: Stage 3 – ITT

Breakfast in line with the stage timings.

Exact route details to be confirmed soon but expect iconic climbs and tough riding with pro level support.

We expect an early start and after the finish, the closing party will take place. We offer an airport transfer at 14.00 back to Venice Marco Polo with an estimated arrival at the airport of 16.00 so you can book flights after that depart after 18.00.

Single travellers and twin to share

We welcome single travellers on our tours and holidays as it is a great way to join a like-minded group of people and you will make lots of new friends. If you would like to join our group as a single traveller we can offer you two options. A single room or if you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our ‘twin to share’ option. We will pair you up with another traveller (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra.
