The 2019 Vuelta a España was won by Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma). The 2020 Vuelta a Espana had to cancel its’ Gran Salida’ in Utrecht, Holland. This means that the Vuelta is now 3 stages shorter and will start in the Basque Country with a stage in the Basque Country from Irun and the first uphill finish at the sanctuary of Arrate. What follows then is a series of stages in the north of Spain. The 2020 Vuelta never ventures south of Madrid throughout the entire event. Apart from the start in Holland, the Vuelta also visits France and Portugal.
Highlights are the Aubisque and Tourmalet stage and the Contador weekend with the Farrapona stage followed by the Angliru stage.
