Womens Only Triathlon Camp with Tanja Slater & Team

24 Jan 2013 to 31 Jan 2013

For the fifth year in a row, Tanja Slater brings her popular women's triathlon training camp to Club La Santa.

It's the perfect time - and the perfect place - to kick start your winter training, to get ready for the 2013 season. Of course, it's also a great way to get an introduction to the sport of triathlon in the warm climate and magnificent surroundings of Lanzarote.

With the Ironman Lanzarote and Volcano Triathlon on the horizon, we're sure to see many of you returning to Club La Santa throughout the year.

This camp caters for all abilities and all ages - whether you're a novice or an elite athlete. It's also suitable for sprint and Olympic distance athletes looking to build their base training and learn more about the sport. Or just to gain experience for races.

The maximum limit has been set to 40, so that you can get more individual attention on all four disciplines - run, bike, swim and the all important transition.

The week

Starting with a welcome meeting, it will end with dinner in Club La Santa's restaurant, La Casa. Companions are welcome to join us for this dinner, they will have to pay €26 for the 3 course meal, which includes half a bottle of wine.

The main language will be English.

Training

Training will take place throughout the volcanic island. We'll be using the 50m Olympic-sized pool for the swimming as well as the Club La Santa lagoon - a closed off area from the sea.

The runs will be on and off-road and around the complex and athletics track.

Bike rides will take you through some of the most beautiful parts of the island - on the newly tarmacked surfaces.

Additional activities will be available in the provisional programme.

Important Information

Remember to bring your swim equipment and wet suit, as we will also be doing an open water swim in the lagoon. Bring your own bike, bike shoes and helmet if possible, if not you can rent bikes for the week (subject to availability at an extra cost) but remember to bring pedals and a helmet.  It is a law in Spain - No helmet – No ride.

*Please note that if you want to rent a Club La Santa bike rather than taking your own, you will have to arrange this separately with CLub La Santa UK prior to departure. The price for a bike is around 95 € per week or 21 € a day. It is advisable to book these bikes at time of booking and will be subject to availabilty*
