Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon

The Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon is back for its third year, following the success of the first events in 2010 and 2011. Founded by Ironman Lanzarote Race Director and legend in the triathlon world, Kenneth Gasque, this is a fantastic triathlon event.
The Ocean Lava Triathlon itself is a 1.9km swim in Puerto del Carmen, with two huge catamarans as corner buoys. There's a 90km bike ride through the vineyards of La Geria, El Golfo and over Femes. Riders face a steep incline of 22%, before heading to the Timanfaya National Park. Around 60% of the course is through Lanzarote's breathtaking lava fields, with the run consisting of three loops of Puerto del Carmen before heading to the finish.
There is also a quarter-iron distance option too.
