After the success of the Barcelona Triathlon last year Sports Tours International will once again be taking competitors and supporters to take part in this beautiful Spanish city for what should be another great event. Last year over 4,000 people took part in glorious sunny weather in this triathlon making it the largest event in Spain. This year the organisers are expecting around 5,000 competitors.
The Event
There is a Super Sprint (400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run), Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) and Olympic distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) race so there is a distance to suit everyone from beginner to Elite. Please state on your booking form which entry you require.
We have secured accommodation at the Official Event Hotel, which is ideally situated within walking distance to the race start, which is in front of the beach of Nueva Mar Bella, and next to the “Puerto Olimpico” (Olympic Port), one of the most popular leisure areas of Barcelona.
Race Details
Super sprint 400m swim, 10k bike, 2.5k run
Sprint 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
Olympic distance 1500m, 40k bike, 10k
This will be the third edition of the Barcelona Triathlon and it doubles up as the Catalunya National Championships. The route will see competitors battling it out on one of the most scenic courses in Europe taking in some of Barcelona’s prime landmarks and riding around the Parc de la Cuitadella and under the Arc de Triomf. Then on to the run you will take in ocean views as you wind your way along up towards the Olympic Village and then return to the finish.
PLEASE NOTE – DRAFT LEGAL RACE Last Year some competitors were caught out when local Officials asked them to remove their aerobars or to have their bikes in a drafting legal set up. It may be prudent to not use a bike where the aerobars can not be removed. This will be confirmed by the event organisers in due course.

In order to try and make your trip with us even easier we are now also able to offer bike hire and/or wetsuit hire for an additional cost over the event weekend. This would mean that you do not have to lug around any heavy equipment such as bike boxes and wetsuits meaning you can simply relax and enjoy your trip. Details coming soon.
