Over 35,000 runners are expected to take part in the 2013 Tokyo Marathon. It's one of the hardest marathons in the World to gain entry to, so you'll be glad we have guaranteed Tokyo Marathon entries

The course of the Tokyo Marathon symbolizes the past, present and the future of Tokyo, and during the unforgettable 26.2 mile journey the runners will have the chance to thoroughly enjoy this legendary city's legacy! The Tokyo Marathon starts in front of the impressive Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and passes through numerous famous sightseeing spots, such as the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower and the World's largest fish market, to finish at Tokyo Big Sight Convention Centre. There's a time limit of 6 hours 40 minutes and you must be 19 years of age or over. A 10km road race is also held on the same day (time limit of 1.5 hours).

The Keio Plaza Hotel is ideally located in the centre of bustling Tokyo yet has the added advantage of having a lush, green backdrop; the imperial gardens of Shinjuku Gyoen and the forests of the Meiji Shrine. Just a few minutes walk form the JR Shinjuku Station, the hotel is served with excellent transport links. Located adjacent to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government complex, Keio Plaza Hotel is also close to the department stores, electronics stores, and other shopping choices that ring Shinjuku Station. It’s convenient location is also five quick minutes from the Shinjuku Entrance of the Metropolitan Expressway.

We are working with Kinki Nippon Tourist Co. Ltd on the ground arrangements of this tour. Please note, early booking is recommended as our Guaranteed Entry places are only available for a short period of time, with a latest closing date of December 5th - however entries will close early if the international limit is reached.

Typical itinerary (based on 6 nights)

Day 1 - Monday 18th: Leave your chosen international airport for your flight to Tokyo.
Day 2 - Tuesday 19th: Arrive Tokyo Narita or Airport and Transfer by coach to the stunning Keio Plaza Hotel located in the shinjuku area of Tokyo.
Day 3 - Wednesday 20th: Free for sightseeing in Tokyo or Optional Tour available to Mount Fuji,
Day 4 - Thursday 21st: Free for sightseeing in Tokyo or Optional Tour or all runners must to go to the Marathon Expo either Thurs/Fri/Sat for registration and runner kit pick-up.
Day 5 - Friday 22nd: Free for sightseeing in Tokyo ( or Optional Tour )
Day 6 - Saturday 23rd: Day at leisure,
Day 7 - Sunday 24th: "TOKYO MARATHON" Race day transfer to/from Marathon by own means,
Day 8 - Monday 25th: Transfer to Tokyo Narita International Airport for your international flight back.

MOUNT FUJI/HAKONE TOUR(Optional) 1 day trip to Mount Fuji by coach with an English speaking guide.
Learn fascinating facts about Mt Fuji at the Fuji Visitors Centre, ascend Mount Fuji to the 5th Station (subject to weather conditions), cruise on Lake Ashi, ride to the top of Mount Komagatake by aerial cableway, taking in the breathtaking surrounding views. Complete this amazing day with a thilling ride on the world famous Bullet Train, SHINKANSEN, from Odawara Station back to Tokyo Station. Japanese style lunch is also included in the rate, £tba Per Person.

Our package includes a stated number on bed and breakfast accommodation at the Keio Plaza; return transfer between the airport and the hotel, using the regular Airport limousine bus (vouchers are issued for this). Flights are not included, but we can give you a quote for a flight if you wish, or you can arrange your own flight.

Marathon race entry is £100 per entry. You must be at least 19 years of age on the day of the race and capable of completing the marathon in under 6 hours 40 minutes.

For marathon runners, your entry fee also permits entry into the International Friendship Run Event on February 23rd. Non-marathon runners, will have to pay a separate fee (TBC) for this event.

UK visitors entry requirements - UK passport holders can enter Japan with a valid passport and a return air ticket. However advice can change from time to time, so we recommend you check for the latest UK Government advice.
