The ING New York City Marathon is the World's largest marathon and a must-do for any serious marathon runner. It is an amazing event, with thousands of international runners travelling across the World to run through the 5 boroughs of New York City to finish in Central Park.

The atmosphere surrounding the New York Marathon is unforgettable and must be sampled to be believed. British runners, in particular, receive a warm from the locals and plenty of support from the visiting supporters.

TRAVEL PACKAGE

 Our Runners World New York Marathon travel package is for 3, 4 or 5 nights and we will be staying at the Paramount Hotel. Included in your travel package are the stated number of nights accommodation at the Paramount on room only basis and the services of Sports Tours International reps, with the option of Guaranteed race entry into the 2012 ING New York City Marathon.

The Paramount Hotel is a fashionable boutique hotel centrally located half a block from Broadway on 46th Street, in the heart of bustling Times Square. Completely renovated in 2009, The Paramount remains the consummate modern Times Square New York hotel, with easy access to the Broadway Theater District, Restaurant Row, upscale Madison and Fifth Avenue shopping, Penn Station, and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. We are using Deluxe King Double rooms (with a single large bed) and Superior Double Double Rooms (with 2 beds) with mounted 32-inch flat-screen televisions, iHome docking stations rolling desks and original Philippe Starck sinks in all guestrooms and high-speed wireless Internet access. The rooms are larger than the standard room at the Paramount Hotel at approximately 220 square feet.

The itinerary for our trip arriving on the 3rd for 4 days is roughly as follows:

• Thursday 3rd or Friday 4th - arrive in New York.
• Friday 4th - join us for a early morning jog in Central Park. Afterwards, you can take the time to register for the Marathon and collect your race pack.  There will be a Parade of Nations Ceremony in Central Park on Friday evening.
• Saturday 5th - Free day, although if you have not already registered for the Marathon, then you must do so today.
• Sunday 6th - Marathon runners will walk the 5/10 minutes down to 42nd Street to take the bus transfer to the start. Last year we left at 6am. After the marathon, you will have time to enjoy your success!
• Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th - enjoy the best of New York!

PASSPORTS - THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Please note: we will require a copy of your passport along with your application form.

Please – don’t leave it to the last minute. The following information is for United Kingdom passport holders only, other nationals including Eire should consult the appropriate embassy. UK residents are allowed to enter the USA with a ten year passport, with no less than 6 months left before the expiry of the passport, if staying in the US for less than 90 days. However, the rules are constantly updated, so we advise that you check your own individual situation as the visa waiver programme is subject to strict criteria, and for example, if you have a criminal record or have previously been refused entry to the US, you may not qualify for entry under the Visa Waiver programme. Please check your status with the rules.

Passengers are no longer permitted to enter the USA with a non-machine readable passport unless their old style passport has a valid Visa stamp. The newer red passports are machine readable.
