Runners World Medoc Marathon

The Medoc Marathon in the South of France is famous, not just for its sheer popularity, but also because it really is one of the most unusual marathons around. It was created in 1896 and the fancy dress themes are popular the World over. It is a marathon you must run just like London, New York or Paris, but the field is only limited to 8,500 runners, so you have to enter early to guarantee your spot.
This is your chance to run through some of the most famous wine growing areas of France (and therefore, the World!).
For 2012, you are encouraged to dress as someone famous in history. Could be a famous King? Or a Pharaoh? Or a Gladiator? So why not dress up and run and sample the wine as you go around!
