For the 2010 New York Marathon, we are offering a VIP travel package staying at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which is close to the New York Marathon race finish line at Central Park.

Mandarin Oriental, New York, is located more than 280 feet above ground level, providing a stunning hotel arrival experience. It features 248 spacious, elegant guestrooms and suites, all with breathtaking views of the city skyline, Central Park and the Hudson River. All rooms offer advanced in-room entertainment technology. The 14,500-square-foot Five-Star Spa at Mandarin Oriental, including a state-of-the-art fitness center and a 75-foot lap pool, is a prominent element of the hotel.

Our travel package to the Mandarin Oriental, includes private transfer from JFK airport and lasts for 3 nights.

Typical Itinerary

Friday – arrive at JFK or Newark airports – transfer to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel – if time permits, then go to the Expo centre and register for the New York Marathon.

Saturday – Take part in the Continental Airlines International Friendship Run – Afterwards, either register at the expo, if not already done, or have some time shopping in New York

Sunday – take a taxi or walk/run down to the Midtown Bus transfer point to the start of the marathon – RUN THE NEW YORK MARATHON! – Celebrate for completing the Marathon

Monday – Check out of the hotel – Have some free time enjoying yourself in New York – Private transfer back to the airport for your return flight.

This itinerary is just an example, but gives you a flavour of what to expect.

With this VIP package, we do not automatically include flights, as we like to offer a personal service in offering to both a particular airline and travel class for your own personal requirements. Please ask us to provide you with a quote for your required seats or if you wish us to arrange your flights or use your own frequent flier miles, then you are free to do this. NOTE The above prices are per person and include your room only accommodation, airport/hotel transfers and reps services. The rates DO NOT include flights, insurance or the Guaranteed Race Entry Fee of £299 pp.

In order to confirm your reservation we require the following payment at the time of booking:

DEPOSIT: £400 per person plus Race Entry Fee

RACE ENTRY FEE: The New York marathon race entry is currently £299 versus the 2009 race entry price of £349. This also includes your bus transfer to the start of the New York Marathon and entry into the Continental Airlines International Friendship Run on the Saturday.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit of £200 per person, plus the full Race Entry Fee, which is non-returnable once booked. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

PASSPORTS – THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Please note: we will require a copy of your passport along with your application form.

Please – don’t leave it to the last minute. The following information is for United Kingdom passport holders only, other nationals including Eire should consult the appropriate embassy.
UK residents are allowed to enter the USA with a ten year passport, with no less than 6 months left before the expiry of the passport, if staying in the US for less than 90 days. However, the rules are constantly updated, so we advise that you check your own individual situation as the visa waiver programme is subject to strict criteria, and for example, if you have a criminal record or have previously been refused entry to the US, you may not qualify for entry under the Visa Waiver programme. Please check your status with the rules.

Passengers are no longer permitted to enter the USA with a non-machine readable passport unless their old style passport has a valid Visa stamp. The newer red passports are machine readable. CHILDREN MUST HAVE THEIR OWN PASSPORT – If in doubt please contact the passport advice line on 0300 222 0000, or Passport Office Website or if applicable the American Embassy on 0207 499 9000 or the US Embassy Website

IMMIGRATION TO THE USA

There are now very strict guidelines on entry to the USA and a new system put in place whereby you must have registered with the Department of Homeland Security at least three days before you travel. More information can be found on the Department’s Official Website
