Music Marathon Festival Lanzarote

Take part in the Music Marathon Festival as part of your sports holiday at Club La Santa in Lanzarote, the World’s number 1 sports and activity holiday resort.

FULL MARATHON distance – 42.195 – 21.100 – 10.500 and 5.000 start and finish like the last years and it is in Puerto del Carmen and it is perfect for a warm weather training week with one of the distances.

This is an invitation to EVERYONE who likes to run – jog – skate, walk or move the body to music. Come and join this exciting afternoon and evening in Puerto del Carmen.

The Music Marathon Festival in Lanzarote started in 2009 with over 500 participants and changes the Avenida de Las Playas in to a street party with music bands, there will perform when you are walking or running. The big finisher party and concert will be in front of Hotel Los Fariones in Puerto del Carmen.

The 2012 Music Marathon Festival:

1/4 (10.55km) or 1/2 Marathon (21.1km): Run, jog or skate.
1/8 (5.28km)Marathon: Skate, walk or wheelchair.

Children races:

1 & 1/2 Mile Kids: Skate, from 4 to 16 years.
1 Mile Kids: Run, from 10 to 16 years.
1/2 Mile Kids: Run, from 4 to 9 years.

The entry fee is €25 for adults and €10 for Kids under 16 and includes the following: T-shirt and bracelet of the event, race number with 4 safety pins and a bag number. During the race you will receive water, energy drinks and fruits on the run course. When you cross the finish line you will receive your Finisher medal. In the finish area you will get fruit, Coca Cola and water. ChampionChip is used for timing.

Saturday 27th of October 2012 – Race day!
15:00 DJ music and speaker start in the start area.
16:00 Race start Kids skaters 800m + 1 mile.
16:30 Race start Kids from 4 to 9 years run 800metre, parents can run with their children, police in front.
17:00 Race start Kids from 10 to 16 years run a mile, police in front.
17:30 Race start 1/2 Marathon, 1/4 Marathon, 1/8 Marathon (Run, inline skates, wheelchair, jog or walk), police in front.
18:30 Awards for Wheelchair and Inline skaters.
18:45 Awards for the 1/4 Marathon.
19:00 Awards for the 1/2 Marathon.
19:30 Concert at the Start/Finish area.

Finish line festival – Music and Fun are at the heart of the Finish Line Festival, where everybody joins with the runners in a rousing celebration of the considerable accomplishment that comes with completing the Music Marathon Race.
So you’ve done the hard work, now it’s time to celebrate!
After you cross the finish line, stick around for the popular Finish Line Festival, a rollicking carnival of music, where spectators join with runners to celebrate the great achievement of the runners.

The course – “the road of rythym”

The Start/Finish is located in front of Apartments Los Cocoteros, Avenida de las Playas 16, Puerto del Carmen. The run course will take the runners to the Avenida de Las Playas and straight to the turn point at the Hotel San Antonio and back to the Start/Finish line and to the second turn point in front of Hotel Fariones before crossing the finish line or continuing the next loop.

1 loop is 5275m – 2 loops 10550m – 4 loops 21100m.

The time limit for the race is 2 hours 45 minutes.

No airport transfers are included in the price.

Race entry is £20 for any of the Half marathon (21.1km), quarter marathon (10.55km) and eighth marathon (5.275km)
The kids mile for 10-16 year olds and the half mile for 5-9 year olds is only £8.

HOW TO BOOK

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit as above. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.
