Lanzarote Wine Run

Win your weight in Wine!

This is a unique half marathon running event in the wine district of La Geria in Lanzarote; compete & sample the delicious local wines along the route in some of the planet’s most extraordinary scenery!

The 21.1km half marathon course will start be at Los Dolores Church in Mancha Blanca. The running route will take the participants on different types of surfaces through the vineyards in the La Geria region. In this area the runners will be offered free samples of the wine produced by the local “bodegas”. The finish line will be in La Geria district between ‘La Geria’ and ‘Rubicon’ vineyards.  There is a time limit of 5 hours and there will be several aid stations supplying you with water and samples of the wine produced by the local “bodegas”.

There is also a 10km Wine Walk staring at El Grifo bodega and finsihing at Rubicon, if you're not up for running and want to drink more wine!!

The Route

Running (21.1 km)

The race starts between La Bodega Rubicon and la Bodega La Geria. It takes participants through various terrains such as dirt roads, asphalt and hectars of vineyards before reaching Los Dolores and Mancha Blanca. Along the way there will be aid stations and a range of wine produced by different wineries on the isalnd. 

Trekking (10km) 

You will start from La Bodega El Grifo, through trails and vineyards. Here you can enjoy a varied selection of local wines along the way. Minors are welcomed at the walk but must be accompained by one or both parents.

Aid Stations and medical assistance

Along the route you will see aid stations. These aid stations will provide water, isotonic drinks and wine produced by the local wineries. Once you have finished the race you have the chance to taste the local wines and gastronomic producs of the Canary Islands.
