The JD Sports City of Salford 10k
Hundreds of people took part in the first ever City of Salford 10k last year. This year we’re delighted to announce that JD Sports is the headline sponsor for the race. Well known for their involvement in music and football, this is the first step by JD into an event of this kind and they are looking forward to welcoming over 1,000 entrants in the JD Sports City of Salford 10k.
The City of Salford 10k, supported by Salford City Council, is a race for people of every standard and ALL are welcome.
The start and finish will be in the heart of Salford Quays in the Lowry Plaza situated in between The Lowry and Lowry Outlet Mall. The course will take runners over the Lowry Bridge and will take in the local sights, including the Imperial War Museum North and run along United Road at Manchester United F.C. before returning to Salford Quays.
Runners will be under starters order at 09.30 on Sunday 5th September 2010 and we will be joined by the World Famous Dr Ron Hill MBE, so if you want to run with a legend, then make sure you join Ron on the start line! Click here to learn about Dr Ron’s running tips.
The 2009 City of Salford 10k saw Jessica Riley and Tom Charles set down the markers as the fastest man and woman – Tom setting the pace at 33.43.

After the race, visit www.mybibnumber.com for some more great photographs and see if you can spot yourself!
