Sports Tours International offers a number of different flight options for the ING New York City Marathon

Our flights are with British Airways for our Full travel packages and Virgin Atlantic for the flight and entry only option, both airlines departing London Heathrow and flying into New York JFK although connections are available from most UK airports where BA offer a service.

For 2013, we are also offering flights with United Airlines, the official airline of the ING New York City Marathon, from various UK departure points direct to Newark airport. Please note, transfers for any full packages are NOT automatically included for flights to Newark. We can offer transfer options at an additional cost, but these will not be accompanied by Sports Tours International staff. For more details, please see below.

We offer a wide variety of departure dates in the run up to the ING New York City Marathon, and then a variety of return dates, so that you can decide exactly how long you want to stay in New York.

FLIGHTS & TRANSFERS FOR FULL PACKAGE TOURS
Transfers to hotels on our full packages are only available on specific dates and flights into JFK airport. You may choose other dates to travel and other times, however you will NOT be eligible for the included transfers. Transfers are possible on public transport from JFK Airport by taxi at a rate of aproximatley $80.

Airport to Hotel private coach transfers operate on the following days and for the advertised flights ONLY:

Departing: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE ABOUT YOUR FLIGHTS
Taxes fees and surcharges are NOT guaranteed until tickets are issued, and are subject to change. Increases in government taxes and fuel surcharges before ticketing will be passed on to the customer, as per our booking conditions.

Any changes to your travel plans generally carry an amendment fee, which increases the closer to departure we are. This is a minimum of at least £25 per person and can rise dramatically closer to departure.

The airline fares used for this tour are based on group rates that carry strict restrictions which include no changes and no partial refunds after ticketing.

You are currently not able to use the 24 hour online check in facility when travelling on BA group tickets.

Upgrades to BA’s World Traveller Plus and Club are available subject to availability – please call for rates.

Your ticket MUST have the name as per your passport. Failure to submit this at time of booking may result in you not being able to board your flight at time of departure and/or additional fees to be able to amend your booking. Please supply us with the correct name at time of booking.

Also, sometimes there may be flight time changes by a small period of time either way. Unless the change is significant, we will not advise until the tickets are issued.

Flights with different airlines are NOT interchangable i.e. if you fly out with British Airways, you must fly back with British Airways.

CONNECTING FLIGHTS
Our FULL PACKAGE flights are operated by British Airways from London Heathrow Airports. If required we can quote domestic add-on fares for connections from other UK regional airports. Please call for details.

As we say above, we are also offering flights with United Airlines, the official airline of the ING New York City Marathon, from various UK departure points direct to Newark airport. You need to enquire at the time of booking for availability and whether there is any price differential payable at the time of booking for these flights, as the fare class that is booked is always subject to availability and the price can fluctuate. Unitedl Airlines operate from the following airports:

HOW TO BOOK

CLICK ON THE GREEN BUTTON AT THE TOP OF THE RELEVANT PACKAGE PAGE ON THE WEBSITE.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit of £200 per person, plus the full Race Entry Fee, which is non-returnable once booked. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

PASSPORTS – THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Please note: we will require a copy of your passport along with any postal application forms.

Please – don’t leave it to the last minute. The following information is for United Kingdom passport holders only, other nationals including Eire should consult the appropriate embassy.
UK residents are allowed to enter the USA with a ten year passport, with no less than 6 months left before the expiry of the passport, if staying in the US for less than 90 days. However, the rules are constantly updated, so we advise that you check your own individual situation as the visa waiver programme is subject to strict criteria, and for example, if you have a criminal record or have previously been refused entry to the US, you may not qualify for entry under the Visa Waiver programme. Please check your status with the rules.

Passengers are no longer permitted to enter the USA with a non-machine readable passport unless their old style passport has a valid Visa stamp. The newer red passports are machine readable. CHILDREN MUST HAVE THEIR OWN PASSPORT – If in doubt please contact the passport advice line on 0300 222 0000, or Passport Office Website or if applicable the American Embassy on 0207 499 9000 or the US Embassy Website

IMMIGRATION TO THE USA

There are now very strict guidelines on entry to the USA and a new system put in place whereby you must have registered with the Department of Homeland Security at least three days before you travel. More information can be found on the Department’s Official Website
