Edinburgh Marathon Festival

The Edinburgh Marathon is widely regarded as the fastest marathon in the UK (Runners World-May 2008), and second in total competitors to London. The 2012 route of the Edinburgh Marathon will follow the 2010 marathon route, starting off in the middle of Edinburgh At the Robert Burns Memorial on Regent Road and meanders through many of the picturesque villages and past numerous stunning white sandy beaches of East Lothian. Add a stretch through the grounds of Earl of Wemyss spectacular stately home and you can see why many runners come back year after year to run this scenic marathon.
The Edinburgh Marathon is rated the best Scottish running event of any distance (Runners World-February 2008). Every marathon and team relay finisher will receive an ASICS technical t-shirt which has been especially designed for the 2013 event. Every marathon runner finishes in front of the grandstand with thousands of spectators roaring you to the finish line. What a way to finish a marathon.
The Edinburgh Marathon provides a platform for 200 charities to raise £2.5 million a year for hundreds of worthwhile causes.
