The Barcelona Marathon takes in some of the finest sites of Barcelona, Catalonia’s capital city. It’s an ideal marathon to tie in with a short city break to this great city.

Last year, over 12,000 runners took part in the Barcelona Marathon, so we’re hoping for more in the 2012 Barcelona Marathon. It starts at 8.30am in Avinguda María Cristina and we are using a hotel very close to this to assist your preparations.

There is also a breakfast run on the Saturday morning, which is free to enter for the first 2,000 runners, but you have to collect your bib on a first come first served basis.

The Barcelona Marathon expo is also one of the largest running expos in Spain and worth having a look around.

TRAVEL PACKAGE

We are staying at the 4 star Catalonia Barcelona Plaza, close to the expo, start and finish of the race.

3 nights B+B based on two people sharing a twin room is £230.
3 nights B+B based on one person for a single room is £399.

Race entry is in addition to the hotel prices and is payable in full at the time of booking at a cost of £55.00 until the end of January after that £65.00

Bibs must be collected on March 23rd and 24th 2012 at the Marató Expo, upon presentation of the registration receipt and an official identification document. Without this receipt, bibs will not be delivered.

Included in your travel package are: hotel accommodation for 3 nights and the option to purchase race entry.

Not included in your travel package (not exhaustive): flights, airport transfers, meals and drinks at your accommodation, travel insurance (highly recommended) and any other extras.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit of £100 plus the full Race Entry Fee, which is non-returnable once booked. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Visas are not required to enter Spain. You need a passport or a National Identity Card (see the website of the Identity and Passport Service (IPS)) to enter Spain.
