Below are the details of 2010, but some of these may change for 2011, so do not take them, literally for next year.
Located in the very heart of the country, this truly unique event will have the majestic Uluru (Ayers Rock) as its backdrop and will give runners of all levels the opportunity to experience the Australian Outback as its earliest inhabitants did, on foot.
With packages to suit all tastes and budgets, the Australian Outback Marathon (Half Marathon, 10km run/walk and 5km walk) is a must for all who love running, adventure and who have wanted to explore the stunning Australian outback.

Desert Gardens HotelA comfortable 4.5 star hotel at Voyages Ayers Rock Resort, Desert Gardens Hotel offers a range of appealing accommodation, from shaded poolside rooms to deluxe rooms with Rock views. Set amongst magnificent ghost gums and flowering native shrubs, you can choose to relax in the comfort of your private balcony or unwind near the pool over cocktails.

It’s only a short stroll to the numerous lookouts, where you can view one of the best sunsets in Australia, with the spectacular play of colours across the face of Uluru. Named after the soaring white sails that crown its roof, Sails in the Desert Hotel is Voyages Ayers Rock Resort’s 5 star premium hotel. The interior decor focuses on Aboriginal heritage and culture, with the renowned Mulgara Gallery in the hotel and significant artworks featured throughout the public areas and in the private rooms.

Course Description
The 1st Australian Outback Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km courses will be predominantly off-road, made up of bush trails, access roads and tracks as well as unsealed roads. Only a small amount of the course will be run on sealed roads. The running surface will consist mainly of the famous “red earth” that can be found all over central Australia, and stunning views of Uluru (Ayres Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) are waiting for you around almost every corner.

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit of £200 per person, plus the full Race Entry Fee, which is non-returnable once booked. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.
