The run of Phidippides’ from Marathon to Athens set the scene for Marathons to enter the World of Sport, so this year’s 2012 Athens Classic Marathon will have a lot to live up to, but we are sure it will be as good as ever. It is now over 2,500 years since the original marathon, and the Athens Marathon is one which all runners should have on their running CV.
