2011 City of Salford 10k and 5k runs
We saw a great day for the 2011 City of Salford 10k and 5k runs with the rain staying away and the temperature not being too hot to run in. The new route, incorporating MediaCityUK, passing by the new BBC Salford offices and then crossing the new Salford Quays bridge, worked well.
For the third year in succession the men's 10k was won by Tom Charles of Trafford AC in a time of 31:43, with the women's 10k being won by Jessica Oliver-Bell, also of Trafford AC, in a time of 39:25. Top 3 Men

Stockport Harriers won both the Mens and Womens' Team events.
The first running of the new 5k event was won by Iain Hampson in a time of 19:49 for the men's category and won by Jill Carlin in the female category in a time of 25:09.
