Enjoying the relaxed island of Mallorca.
All our swim coaches are ASA qualified and most of all have the personal experience in swimming and working with all standards of swimmers. With lots of encouragement from your guides you will learn the biomechanics of your stroke and how it relates to open water swimming. By utilising 1:1 and 3:1 coaching sessions the guides will accentuate the positive in your stroke to increase your efficiency in the water. Once mastered in the pool you will then swim in the local bays, putting into practise all you will have learnt.
The video sessions will be another key factor in the week as they will help you see all
of your swim stroke highlighting both positive aspects and areas to improve on. The coaches will monitor your progression and under their watchful eye you will have the chance to swim some long coastal swims to include Els Estanys to Platja des Trenc and some island swim crossings to a small reef all in a safe and encouraging environment.
Based in the stunning coastal resort of Colonia St Jordi, this tour is suitable for those who can comfortably swim 2km in open water and have some open water experience.

Further Information:
Day 1
Saturday We meet at our hotel for a trip briefing where we detail the plan for the week ahead. Following this we go to the local beach for a short, shallow water acclimatisation and assessment swim
Day 2
Sunday We start the day with a pool session. This initial session will allow your coaches to both observe and video your stroke. Following this you will be able to playback your stroke with the coaches and agree a list of improvements that you and the coaches will work on during the week. This initial list is an excellent way to focus attention on where it is needed most. The afternoon is taken up with a swim in the bay. The coaches will introduce the basics of open water technique.
Day 3
Monday With two pool sessions today, the coaches work on maximising your stroke efficiency. The afternoon culminates in an escorted deep water swim along Mallorca’s southern coastline.
Day 4
Tuesday The morning session is given over to video analysis. Your stroke is recorded both above and below the water. Following this you can sit down and watch your stroke played back. The afternoon is based in the sea, with a further coastal swim heading out from Es Dolc bay.
Day 5
Wednesday We hold a discussion on nutrition and stretching exercises to maximise benefit for your swimming. Following this it’s down to the pool, to focus on previous technique and drill sets in preparation for the afternoon coastal sea swim. This afternoon’s swim heads out from Es Carbo Bay and goes along Mallorca’s southern coastline. You can see the bottom all the way and admire the rock formations and marine life as you go. It’s an ideal opportunity to implement all the improvements on your strokes whilst working on more specific open water techniques.
Day 6
Thursday With two coastal sea swims it’s the time to realise all the previous day’s hard work! We’ll start at Els Estanys and swim up along Platja des Trenc. After lunch at Punta Plana we’ll head back to the beautiful beach of Es Carbo for an island hop around the small islands in the bay.
Day 7
Friday A last chance for a morning swim back in the local bay or at the pool before this trip finishes.
Caveat 2010
For obvious safety reasons we rely on decent weather conditions when carrying out any crossings. As a consequence, open water swimming does require an inherent degree of on-trip flexibility, so required changes in the planned itinerary will not be uncommon and will undoubtedly add to the uniqueness of each tour
Swimming Caveat 2010
Swimming in the sea is a fantastic experience, but you need to be aware of certain marine life such as jellyfish, sea urchins and coral. These could be present during a swim, so in all cases we will work on minimising their occurrence. In the event you are stung by jellyfish, in most cases you can normally carry on swimming. However, if you do have a problem, we can assess/treat the affected area immediately on the escort boat. If this area continues to cause discomfort and/or becomes infected during or after the tour, you should seek medical attention immediately explaining the nature of the cause. Please ensure you contact us prior to booking if you suffer from Anaphylaxis.
