Escape from Alcatraz to San Francisco
Click To ZoomWe are pleased to be able to offer this one-off swim to anybody who has ever wanted to make this iconic swim. You will be escorted across this crossing by Mr Alcatraz himself, Gary Emich who has over 500 crossings to his name already!
Unlike our other tours, this is an individually tailored trip because you book out that period of time on the speecific day. Hence you can book to go on the crossing throughout the year. These are individual escorted swims and are designed for anything between 1-4 swimmers. So you can either attempt the escape by yourself, or share the experience with friends.

Alcatraz Swim
Trip Duration: 2-3 hours You meet your guide Gary Emich on the San Francisco shore straight across from the imposing fortress island of Alcatraz. During the briefing he will explain to you the current s that you can expect on your swim, the landmarks that you need to look out for and any safety issues that you need to be aware of. You will then be taken by boat to Alcatraz where you will begin your swim.
Caveat
Caveat: Swimming in the sea is a fantastic experience, but you need to be aware of potential problems. Marine life such as jellyfish, sea urchins and coral could be present on some of the swims, but we will work on minimising. If stung by jellyfish you can normally carry on swimming. However if you do have a problem we can treat you on one of the escort boats. You should contact us prior to booking if you suffer from Anaphylaxis. You should seek medical attention if you develop any infection following contact with the above.
