UCI Road World Championships Holland 2012

From Saturday the 15th of September 2012 till Sunday the 23rd of September 2012 the World Championship road cycling will take place in Maastricht in the southern Dutch province of Limburg. The World Championship is an annual road cycling competition and is held in a different country each year, and we will be seeing if the reigning cycling World Champion Mark Cavendish can win the Rainbow jersey for the second year in succession.
The event consists of a road race and a time trial for men, women and men under 23. It will be the 79th Road World Championships.
There is an exhibition about cycling too and it’s free for public. This exposition will take place from Monday the 17th of September 2012 till Sunday the 23th of September 2012.
Maastricht will also be a part of the World Championship 2012. On Thursday the 20th of September 2012 there is an UCI convention and there will be a Junior conference.
The Netherlands last hosted the Road World Championships in 1998 in Valkenburg aan de Geul and this will be the fifth time in total that the country has hosted the championships.

If you want to be sure of your place in the Worlds cyclosportive, you better book as soon as possible.
