Tour de France 2014 Yorkshire and London VIP experiences
Tour de France 2014 Yorkshire and London VIP experiences
The 2014 Tour de France is visiting Yorkshire for the 2014 Grand Depart with 2 fantastic stages around Yorkshire. Le Tour then moves on to Cambridge and London for the third stage of the 2014 Le Tour. As a VIP Tour Operator of the Tour de France, we have some incredible and exclusive experiences available for you.
For all of these VIP experiences our Sports Tours International staff will be there for you on arrival at the venue to ensure that everything runs smoothly. We will then hand you over to the Tour de France hosts who will look after you.
At the start
The 2014 Tour de France entourage and organisation travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Tour de France like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider's paddock. If you into collecting autographs, this is the best place for it.
At the finish
The Tour de France sets up a limited number of areas located on course within the final portion of the stage. These have names like Izoard and Galibier. On the Champs Elysees there are far more different options to choose from with Official TDF Paris hospitality. Access to these areas is usually reserved and by invitation only. You will see famous ex-cyclists, sponsors team guests. Typically these areas are within 200 metres or so of the finish line. You can enjoy catering and see the stage unfold on several TV screens. There is also a spectator friendly elevated viewing area. Champagne is served as the race to celebrate the winner.
Please note - this is updated as of June 5th with the latest availability as many of the options we had originally have now sold out.
On the course
Because we are official partners with the Tour, we have access to areas that are usually off limits to the general public. This includes access to the actual course that the riders will be going on. If you want to ride, then we can offer for you to Ride the first 15km of the actual race route to either show off your company or club or to just lap up the applause.
Stage 1 - Leeds to Harrogate - Saturday 5 July
The first stage will be a fantastic opening to the 2014 Tour de France, with the start in Leeds, then up to Harewood and around the Yorkshire Dales until a sprint finish into Harrogate. This is also the home of Mark Cavendish's mum, so can Cav take the stage win for his first ever Yellow Jersey of the Tour de France? We think probably!
Grandstand seats in Harrogate along the finishing straight of Stage 1 - Take your seat to witness the first stage winner of the 2014 Tour de France. Will it be Cav? Will it be Peter Sagan or someone else? Whoever the winner, these seats will be a brilliant vantage spot to watch the finish from. If it is Cav who wins, there will only ever be one time when he pulls on his first Yellow jersey, so do not miss the chance to be there to see it! The Tour is expected to cross the line around 15:50/16:00, but the area will open from 12 noon. As this is unreserved seating, we advise being there as early as possible, and certainly before 13:45 to select your place. The Tour de France publicity caravan is due to arrive about 14:45. Price is £249 per seat. Book Now.
Stage 2 - York to Sheffield
Stage 2 of the 2014 Tour, is going to be an interesting stage, much harder than many people think, with a number of short sharp climbs and hundreds of thousands of cycling fans lining the roads cheering everyone on. The start from York takes in some of the historic landmarks of this famous city before heading towards the Pennines and some of Britain's most celebrated cycling roads. The stage may suit a breakaway or it could come together for the finish in Sheffield.
Grandstand seats in Sheffield along the finishing straight of Stage 2 - See the winner of the second stage cross the line from this great vantage point. You will be welcomed by Tour de France hostesses and enjoy the atmosphere and the build up to the stage finish. This area will open from 12:30 and we advise taking your place by 13:30, as the Tour de France publicity caravan will arriove around 14:45 with the race finish expected about 16:15, before the stage winner's presentation. Price is £199 per seat. Book Now.
