This is what our 2009 team thought……
“What a day……the atmosphere on the ride was superb, the French public fully supported the event with people lining the route in places, especially through the towns to cheer everyone on. On Mont Ventoux were countless motor homes with people ready with water to pour over you to cool you down as you passed, which was just what was required.”
“Finally the finish was in sight and I managed to complete the last 500 metres without stopping. I turned the last bend crossed the line and practically collapsed. I got off the bike sat down at the side of the road and cried. It took me a long time to get myself together take in the stunning surroundings and the views and fully appreciate the achievement of completing this.”
