Haute Route 2012 - Geneva to Nice - 19 - 25 August 2012
Sports Tours International are pleased to have been chosen to be official travel partner for the 2012 Haute Route, the longest and hardest cyclosportive that takes place from the 19th until the 25th of August in the French Alps.
We only have a very limited amount of places available to us so please ensure you get in quick! Our package for the Haute Route 2012 is an 8 night package.
Itinerary
Below is a summary of the seven stages of the Haute Route 2012:
• Stage 1: Sunday 19th August: Geneva - Megève (120km, 2700m+)
• Stage 2: Monday 20th August: Megève - Courchevel (105km, 2700 m+)
• Stage 3: Tuesday 21st August: Courchevel - Alpe d'Huez (136km, 4700 m+)
• Stage 4: Wednesday 22nd August: Alpe d'Huez Time Trial (14km, 1100 m+)
• Stage 5: Thursday 23rd August: Alpe d'Huez - Risoul (136km, 3700 m+)
• Stage 6: Friday 24th August: Risoul - Auron (98km, 3200 m+)
• Stage 7: Saturday 25th August: Auron - Nice (171km, 2900 m+)
Saturday 18th of August
Arrive directly at our hotel or arrange to take the option to fly into Geneva Airport. We will be operating transfers throughout the day from the airport to hotel Astoria in Geneva centre.
Sunday 19th of August Genève – Megève (120 km, 2700 m+)
Start of the race from the Jardin des Anglais in Geneva
Col de Romme (2nd Class), Col de la Colombière (2nd Class), Col des Aravis (3rd Class)
Stay overnight at the hotel Coeur de Megeve in Megeve on a bed and breakfast board basis.
Monday 20th of August Megève - Courchevel (105 km, 2700 m+)
Col des Saisies (2nd Class), Ascent to Courchevel 1850 (1st Class)
Stay overnight in at hotel La Chaudanne in Meribel. The start will be from Le Praz (Courchevel 1300) the next day which is right in between Courchevel 1850 (the finish location) and Meribel (our hotel location). Our minibus will take you from the finish to the hotel in Meribel.
Tuesday 21st of August Courchevel (Le Praz) - Alpe d’Huez (136 km, 4700 m+)
Col de la Madeleine (1st Class), Col du Glandon (1st Class), Ascent to L’Alpe d’Huez via Villard Reculas (2nd Class)
Stay overnight in Alpe d'Huez centre (Hotel La Belle Aurore)
Wednesday 22nd of August Alpe d’Huez Time Trial (14 km, 1000 m+)
Ascent of L’Alpe d’Huez from Bourg d’Oisans (1st Class)
Stay overnight in Alpe d'Huez
Thursday 23rd of August Alpe d’Huez - Risoul (136 km, 3700 m+)
Col de Sarenne (3rd Class), Col du Lautaret (2nd Class), Col d’Izoard (1st Class), Ascent to Risoul 1850 (1st Class)
Stay overnight in Risoul village at Hotel Le Rochasson on Half Board basis. The hotel is a short descent (8km) from the finish at Risoul station. We will take you down by minibus from the finish and back up again for the start the next day.
Friday 24th of August Risoul - Auron (98 km, 3200 m+)
Col de Vars (2nd Class), Cime de la Bonette (1st Class), Ascent to Auron (3rd Class)
Stay overnight in St Etienne de Tinee near Auron.
Saturday 25th of August Auron - Nice (171 km, 2900 m D+)
Col de la Couillole (1st Class), Col de St Raphaël (3rd Class), Col de Vence (3rd Class)
Stay overnight in Nice at hotel de Flore in Nice.
Sunday 26th of August Depart from Nice. Depending on people's flight times from Nice airport we will operate one or more transfers from our hotel in Nice to the airport.
- 8 nights accommodation at various hotels on bed and breakfast basis
- 4 of the nights have dinner at the hotel included

At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit per person plus any applicable entry fee. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 12 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip.

Visas are not required to enter Switzerland or France. You need a passport to enter Switzerland or France. As a British passport holder you may stay as a visitor for three months.
