Etape du Tour 2010
PACKAGES ON SALE MONDAY 2ND NOVEMBER
The Etape Du Tour 2010 will mark the 100th Anniversary of the Tour de France first going to the Pyrénées.
100 years ago, the Tour de France took cyclists to the high mountain for the first time, Octave Lapize, being the first cyclist to climb the Tourmalet.
On the 18th of July, 9500 riders will start from the city of Pau to climb 3 monuments of the Pyrénées : col de Marie-Blanque, col du Soulor and the giant Tourmalet. The distance total will be 174 km with imposing landscapes: Plateau de Bénou, Gorges de l’Ouzom and Gorges de Luz, summit of Soulor…
The host village will take place in the city of Pau again during the 16th and 17th of July. This village will be an occasion to discover one of the sports areas…a refreshing place! After crossing the finish line on the Tourmalet summit, you will have a small descent (4km) to go the village in La Mongie ski station.
Sports Tours International has been appointed by ASO (Etape du Tour organisation) as the main official agent for taking entries for many countries.
