Choose to run the New York Marathon for the Scottish Spina Bifida Association and you’ll be amazed what you can achieve. We are working alongside Sports Tours International, an official travel partner of the New York City Marathon in the UK to provide our runners with the best service, costs and fundraising incentives.
The Scottish Spina Bifida Association are adding quality to life, everyday. We are the only registered charity with a Scotland wide remit to support children, young people and adults with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and allied conditions. Right now there are over 3,500 children, young people and adults in Scotland affected by these disabilities and without our Family Support Services, Support Centre and Lo-Call Helpline many people would not have access to the support they need. Every year our Family Support Workers handle over 2500 enquiries and make over 250 home and hospital visits.
It costs over nearly every year to maintain our high level of services and we rely almost entirely on fundraising challenges, events, donations and the goodwill of volunteers to raise these much needed funds. The SSBA has to raise over £90 an hour to continue giving essential support which includes home and hospital visits, information and training days, social and leisure groups, respite care, intensive support to all families with a newborn baby, conferences, subsidised holidays and our Lo-Call Helpline.
It doesn’t matter how much you raise, any amount can help us make a difference.
