Neurocare
Who we are
Neurocare is a groundbreaking local charity, which raises money for the Neuro Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. Neurocare buys equipment to save and improve the lives of patients with a range of debilitating neurological conditions, including brain tumours, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease and Epilepsy.
The Hospital is a centre of excellence and therefore has patients referred from all over the country.
What we’ve achieved
Neurocare has grown massively over the last three years, following its highly successful, £500,000 Brainwave Appeal. The appeal bought three 3D ultrasound scanners for the neurosurgery operating theatres at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The cutting edge scanners are mainly used to help treat people with brain tumours and are the first in the UK.
Neurocare funds a range of pioneering projects so the charity can support a wide group of patients who are all battling debilitating illnesses.
Our Future
Innovations in medical care and equipment are happening all the time. Neurocare’s ambition is to make the Neurosciences Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield the best in the UK in terms of equipment and facilities for patients and their families.
Please see our website www.neurocare.org.uk for details of projects we are currently raising money for.
