Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Run for children with cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy can have a devastating effect on a child’s life.

The condition, a result of brain damage in or around the time of birth, makes it hard for a child to control their muscles and co-ordinate movement. This can make ordinary activities like dressing themselves, walking to school or playing with friends difficult, sometimes impossible to do.

This is where the Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy can help.

We see hundreds of children with cerebral palsy every year and help them to find ways to move more easily and to do things for themselves.

Our physio, occupational and speech & language therapists are among the most experienced in the world and are able to make a difference to children’s lives – even those with severe and complex conditions. We also work closely with parents and carers so that their child’s progress can continue at home.

Our aim is to improve the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy so that they are healthy and active, and can participate in everyday life to the best of their ability. It often starts with small steps (sometimes literally), but can be the start of the road to an independent and fulfilling life.

Please help us to make a difference.
