CEO Challenge Etape du Tour
16 Jul 2011 to 19 Jul 2011Experience one of the newest CEO Challenges for 2011 as you take part in L’Etape du Tour CEO Challenge!
On Sunday 17th July 2011, Act 2 of the 2011 L’Etape du tour will take place covering the 208km of Stage 9 of the 2011 Tour de France between Issoire and Saint Flour. In our opinion, this is the harder of the two Etapes in 2011, as it is nearly double the distance of Act 1 and is a constant barrage of climbs and descents through the Massif Central.
We’re staying at a 4 star hotel on the edge of Clermont Ferrand for the duration of the trip and we will be operating transfers from the local Clermont Ferrand railway station and airport – conveniently linked to Paris. Transfers from and to Lyon airport will also be available, at an additional cost.
This is a special package, with all the extras you would expect from a CEO Challenge, including making sure that your partners and guests are there to welcome you back!

- Race entry into the Etape for CEO.
- Accommodation for three nights in a hotel room of your own.
- Breakfast and dinner at the hotel.
- Celebration dinner after the Etape and prizegiving.

Event Schedule
Friday 15th July – we will collect you from either Clermont Ferrand train station or from Clermont Ferrand airport and then transfer to our hotel. There will be dinner at the hotel in the evening and a briefing session on the weekend’s arrangements.
Saturday 16th July – After an early breakfast we will take you to race registration, in Issoire, (approximately 45 minutes by coach) where we will spend a short time in the start village and then on to our bike store.
Alternatively, if you arrive in Clermont Ferrand with your bikes, there will be an organized (50km) ride to Issoire, registration and the bike store, where bikes will be left and you will be taken, by coach, back to the hotel. Obviously for those who feel riding a gentle 30 miles the day before the event is too much, there will be alternative transport, as above.
It is anticipated that we will arrive at the bike store around 11:30 – 12:00 noon, and depart back to the hotels around 16:00, affording plenty of time to assemble your bike and have a ride and lunch in Issoire.
In the evening, you will have dinner at the hotel and then retire to bed when you wish to rest before the Etape.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE – PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE WITH YOU TO REGISTRATION, STATING THERE ARE NO KNOWN REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE PART IN THE EVENT. The Official medical certificate is available to download by clicking here.
Sunday 17th July After a very early breakfast (04:00 – to be confirmed, depending on start time), at 05:00 you will be taken to the bike store in Issoire, ready to collect your bike, and ride the Etape 2011, Act 2.
Throughout the ride, Sports Tours will have two private feed zones complete with energy drinks, energy bars and gels, plus mechanical back-up. The actual locations will be notified nearer the event.
After the ride, and on arrival in Saint Flour, you will ride the short distance to our rendezvous hotel, where the bike trailer will be waiting to ship your bikes back to your hotel.
After the race we will operate an hourly shuttle service back to Clermont Ferrand, on the hour, commencing after the first rider has finished. This means that the longest you will have to wait after finishing is one hour, with the journey back to the hotel, also of one hour (approximately).
On Sunday evening, we will have a dinner together to celebrate completing the Etape.
Monday 18th July The transfers will drop you off at the Clermont Ferrand railway station, for trains after 09:00 and the airport, for flights after 11:00.
Event Costs
