The EDF Alpe D’Huez Triathlon is one of the most famous and toughest triathlons in Europe. It has built up over the last few years to be an iconic race, which all triathletes must take part in. We are very proud for this to be the venue of a CEO Challenge triathlon.

It is set in one of the world’s most famous sporting locations, the race features a cycle climb of the famous Alpe d’Huez, with its 21 bends, and almost 8 miles of relentless climbing with over 3,000 feet of ascent – also the finishing climb of the final mountain stage of the 2011 Tour de France.

With a swim in the beautiful EDF du Verney Lake in Vaujany, and the Alpe in the background (reminding you constantly of what is to come), this is probably one of the most beautiful locations for a triathlon in Europe.

There are two race distance options:
SHORT COURSE – 1200m swim, 30km cycle, 7km run
LONG COURSE – 2200m swim, 115km cycle, 22km run

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE – All events in France require you to present a medical certificate from your doctor with your entry stating that ‘There is no contra indication to “YOUR NAME” taking part in a triathlon, you will need to produce this certificate at Race registration to pick up your race number.
